The handwritting of a future queen

Handwriting works magic: it transports us back in history, creativity and everyday life and connects us with people who marked the page. The virtual Kids Gallery has a special section dedicated to Kids Handwriting.
In this article we focus on the handwriting of a 7 years old girl who writes a letter to her uncle! It comes from the very past, it was written in 1826. That little girl was the future queen of Britain, Queen Victoria.
The Queen got into an early habit of writing about her day-to-day activities. Thanks to her mother’s encouragement, journaling became an escape for Victoria and because she wasn’t allowed to have friends, she used it to express feelings she might otherwise have shared with one of her peers.
If you wish, read more about handwriting in the article under the title Why we care about handwriting.
