The World’s Oldest Piece of Art

It is called the “Venus of Tan-Tan” and it is a tiny piece of volcanic rock resembling a female figurine, a venus figurine. The “Venus of Tan-Tan” was discovered in Morocco during an archaeological survey by the German archaeologist Lutz Fiedler, on the north bank of the River Draa a few kilometers south of the Moroccan town of Tan-Tan.
This tiny figurine that was found 15 metres below ground was was created by natural geological processes.
It has been dated to be between 300.000 and 500.000 years old. It is a 6 cm long, 2.6 cm wide, and 1.2 cm thick.
